W04: ICCC 2019 Workshop on 5G-Health

Scope and Topics

The telemedicine, e.g., online consultation and remote surgery robotic, is a feasible method to alleviate the difference of medical and health conditions between big cities and remote areas. Besides, the telemedicine can provide emergency medical rescues, which can save the golden rescue minute for seriously injured people. The telemedicine mostly require ultra-reliable and low latency communications (URLLC), large number of connected wearable devices and in-home sensors. All these requirements are within the scope of fifth generation (5G) and beyond wireless communications. However, existing studies on the 5G and beyond wireless technologies for health are still limited, and little attention and endeavor of 5G have been put on these topics.

The goal of this workshop is to invite researchers from both academia and industry to publish the latest efforts, to identify and discuss technical challenges, solutions and recent advances related to 5G and beyond wireless technologies for health. Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers in any of, but not limited to, the following or related topics of interest:

  • 5G and beyond physical layer technologies
  • Massive MIMO technologies for health
  • Mmwave technologies for health
  • NOMA technologies for health
  • Internet of things (IoT) related technologies for health
  • Mobile edge computing technologies for health
  • Cyber security technologies for health information protection and sharing
  • Emerging network architecture design technologies
  • Software defined network (SDN) technologies for health
  • Network function virtualization (NFV) technologies for health
  • Network slicing-based deeply programmable network architectures for health
  • Information centralized networking (ICN)-based technologies for health
  • Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) architectures and related technologies for health
  • Centralized and decentralized network architectures for health
  • 5G-enabled applications for health
  • Artificial intelligence technologies for health
  • Big data analysis technologies for health
  • Image processing technologies for health
  • Robotic technologies for health
  • Wearable sensors and communication technologies for health
  • Remote diagnose and treatment technologies and their related applications

Submission Guideline

The submitted papers should be original, not published or current under review for publications in any other journal or conference. All submission must be formatted in standard IEEE camera-ready format and must be written in English and be at most six (6) printed papers in length, including figures. Papers should be submitted through EDAS System.

During the initial paper submission process via EDAS, the authors should check the author list and the paper title of the submitted pdf file is an exact match to the author list and paper title on the EDAS registration page. In particular, the EDAS registration page must include all co-authors, not just the submitting author. Please be aware that the author list of an accepted paper can NOT be changed in the final manuscript.

Authors should submission their manuscripts via paper submission link: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=25822&track=96924
